Did you know that 1kg of Malaysia Bentong Ginger can approximately yield only 50g of ginger powder?
Malaysia Bentong Ginger is only suitable to grow in the mountains, free from pollution and nourish with natural water and cooling air from the mountains. There is only one harvest in an entire year and it absorbs so much nutrients from the land that after the harvest, the Farmers have to change another location and let the soil ‘rest’ for 4-10 years before the next planting.
Most of the ginger powder products sold in the market are not authentic 100% Malaysia Bentong Ginger. They are mixed with Thailand Bentong ginger (which is cheaper by 50% or more), B or C grade Bentong Ginger and China Ginger.
Due to the high price and inconsistent limited supply, it had made the production a difficult task.
At Tea Cottage SG, we only choose the finest A grade Malaysia Bentong Ginger powder and our pricing omitted the high rental and overhead cost.
